On a major event like the Horsefeahters Pleasure Jam, which is a TTR 4 Star contest, for the first time this year, you can expect some of the biggest names in snowboarding among the competitors: Austria’s most talented riders like Gigi Rüf, Wolle Nyvelt, Stefan Gimpl, Chris Kröll or Sani Alibabic and many more will compete against international superstars like Eero Ettala ( Fin), Hampus Mosesson (Swe) or Torstein Horgmo (Nor). Additionally the best 15 starters of the qualification get the chance to fight for the 20.000 USD of prize money against the invited pros. Those who want to participate on this mega event can get extra packages (accommodation, liftticket, etc) for the duration of the event. You should get one of those as long as they’re available.

Schladming-Dachstein is going all-in when it comes to biking! This summer alone, 20 new mountain-bike trails were developed and way-marked, while companion maps and informational materials in a handy format were also pro-duced.

Since the spring of 2008, project and construction work in Schladming have been in high gear, not least due to the award of the 2013 World Championships in favour of Schladming. With this, its first sporty “lifestyle” hotel, tourism expert TUI Hotels & Resorts, in collaboration with the List Group of Lower Austria, is setting a pilot project into motion.

Ever since 2003, the Schladming Winter Sports Association, which this year celebrates the 100-year anniversary of its existence, had been attempting to bring the Alpine Ski World Championships back to this famous winter sports venue for the first time since 1982. “The third time’s a charm”, or so they say, and thus it was that, on the third attempt, the decision was made in favour of Schladming .

The waiting is over, the Atomic Superpark on Dachstein Glacier has opened it’s gates for all freestyle enthusiasts on Saturday 10.05.2008. The setup of the east-ernmost glacierpark of the alps is better than ever before!

The starting point is at nearly 2,700 meters above sea level in the middle of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Dachstein on the Styrian side; the goal is in the upper Austrian Obertraum. In between there are 20 km downhill!

Not just the altitude (2.700m) of the gondola station and the allround ski region of the Dachstein Glacier is enough to get people talking in superlatives.
